Twilight

Oh yeah I jumped in the banwagon of you fans out there. After watching what was to me an awesome movie...having my friends and a couple of you insist that I read the books, I started yesterday. I am already almost done with the first one. I will definitely be done tonight. I am so hooked on it. My friend had let me borrowed her copy but now since she is reading the second one now, I am going to have to buy them because I can not wait till she is done. lol. I think my hubby might surprise me with them tonight. I saw him looking into the books online to see where was the best place to get them. I know, I know I am too sneaky but he is the BEST!!!

Oh and of course my new fantasy love is:

Now I see why everyone wanted me to read the books. I always knew that books were more elaborate than movies but the book is so far WAY more detailed and better on their love story. The author really did a fabulous job! there are points where I feel as if I am Bella and I even get goosebumps. I know, I'm silly but I am so serious!

Wkend Recap

FRIDAY
I feel like I am so behind on my posts since I wasn't at work on Friday. I took the day off to help my mom with my sister. My little sister Stephanie is 17 years old. She took her fifteen pictures back when she was fifteen but she was never able to take her Vizcaya pictures because she had braces and didn't want those pictures with her braces. lol. When My sister had turned fifteen, her party theme was a Hawaiin Luau, we went all out for it. It was fun! Her dress was more of a carnival type dress. It was beautiful.

Here is proof:

Fast forward 2 years. Braces off. Same girl. Pretty much no differences in her apperance and there we were in Vizcaya. My mom. Me. The make up arist and the photographer. It was a beautiful day! It started off rainy but it cleared up. She picked out a typical fifteens dress and off we went to take the typical fifteens pictures. I wasn't "allowed" to take any pictures but I took some anyways.

We had a great time walking around in the garden. Admiring the pretty flowers. So happy to have Spring here already! While we were in the garden, something really funny happened to my sister. She started to move around like a crazy person and she said something was biting her. My mom went to the rescue and it was a BEE!!! A bee bite her in the behind. lol. she says it hurt a lot and at the moment we were all freaking out but now all we could do is laugh about it. It was just too funny!

After we were all done taking the pictures. We were hungry! So we went to On the Borders and had some yummy food. I love spending time with just my mom and sisters. We were missing one of my sisters there with us because she was at home babysitting our little brother. Besides Steph is not very good with pictures and having a group of people watching her.

After our lunch/dinner we visited one of my bestfriends, Monique and her beautiful little princess, Audrina. My mom nor my sister had met her yet so I took them for a quick visit.

SATURDAY
We slept in. Then I went grocery shopping with my sister in law. We had a pool day at our home. All the kids got in and they are all tanned. I didn't get to go in because we had some guest come over so I was hanging out with them. We had a yummy Bar-B-Q and a pretty relaxing day.
SUNDAY
We had breakfast with my hubbys parents. Hung out with them for a little while. Then we were off to The Home Show with my parents and brother. We saw so many nice things. I got a few nice ideas lined up for when we buy our new home. So excited about that. Then afterwards we all went to to dinner.
Overal....We had a nice relaxing wkend!

UPDATE: Ring Ceremony

Class of 2010!!!
On my last post which was last Thursday, I posted on how that night we were going to my little sister's ring ceremony (it was also my cousin Tiffany's Ring cermeony, they go to the same school). Well we went. It was fun. The ring people gave my sister the wrong ring. We didn't realize it till later. We knew it was wrong because it didn't fit any of her fingers but when we started to look at the details. oh boy were they wrong. lol.

Things wrong with the ring:
  1. My sister is very into sports. She is one of Fugerson's Sports Trainer. In the inside there was ballerina slippers. lol.

  2. Her stone color was suppose to be Ice Blue. It was a much darker blue, like an ocean blue.

  3. Ring size was a 4.5. My sisters ring size is an 8.

  4. Initals engraved inside SMP. My sisters initials are SAG.

  5. My sister is in the medical program in the school so she wanted to have that on one of the sides. But they put the Honors Society Symbol instead. Altough she is in the honor society, she wanted the medical program on it.
The cousins with their rings
And well after a lot of investigation, one my sisters friends called her on Friday afternoon and told her that they found the girl who had her ring. My sister of course was happy to know that she had her ring and that soon it would be in her hands. My sis was very sad the night of the ceremony because she thought she was going to have to wait till forever for them to fix her ring. But thankfully, problem was solved and she can show off her class ring.

Here are some picture of that night...

And of course...US showing off our rings! hee hee.

My little sis - Ring Ceremony Day

I can not believe that 10 years ago, I was receiving my senior ring in high school. My goodness. And now my little sis, my mini me is getting hers. NOW...is when I feel like I am getting older. After work, I will be heading home to shower and get ready to be there for my sister. Taking a zillion pictures and turning that ring of hers. I can't wait to see it! From what she and my mom told me, its going to be beautiful. And Steph (my sis) told me last night that she wants ME to be the last one to turn it. Yup-I am THAT special to her :)

I always share this qoute with my little ones (sisters, brother, cousins, nephews and nieces).

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great ones make you feel that you, too can become great." -Mark Twain

Sparkpeople Translation: "Our really great friends are the ones that help us celebrate our victories no matter how big or small. Evaluate yourself, are you someone who can give people the credit they are due or are you someone that needs to always be number one? Evaluate your friendships and acquaintances and try to spend more time with people who can help you live your purpose. "
If you know me, you know that I am ALWAYS celebrating everything. Like tonight, I will celebrating my sisters ring ceremony. She is growing up and will soon be in college. I always celebrate my little brother or God daugheter's Straight A's (which is every 9 weeks). I even celebrated the fact that my bestfriend is going to attend the same University as me for her Masters. Yippee! I am always trying to push everyone around me to make those dreams/ambitions come true!

Feeling Accomplished

I did it!!!!
I went to school during my lunch hour.
Which turned into 2 hours.
Registered for my summer classes.
Visited the finance dept.
Redid my loan.
UGH!
But I am feeling very accomplished.
I am all ready for May 4th...
Dual Masters in Mental Health Counseling
AND
Marriage and Family Therapy.

Goals

"Arriving at one goal is the starting point to another" -John Dewey

Sparkpeople Translation: "This reminds us how important it is to not stop dreaming and setting goals to get there. Use the completion of one goal as a foundation for achieving another. Each goal that you complete will make you stronger and more able to move ahead. Building this strong foundation will also help you when you experience a step back. "

Speaking of goals. I had a VERY important goal that was not able to take place in January of this year. It was to start the Masters program at my school. I had a few obstacles in my way but the path is now clear and today I have an appointment with my advisor to register for summer classes. Since I have already done all the enrollment requirements, all I have to do is register. So excited! I do not know many people who love school like I do. After high school, I actually loved going to college. I guess it's because the classes were actually interesting for me. Either way thats my current goal and I will complete it SOON. I have too many dreams/goals waiting on this degree.

Quote of the day

"The true measure of an individual is how he treats a person who can do him absolutely no good." -Ann LandersSparkpeople Translation: "So how can a person do us absolutely no good? This is a little off; it’s not that they cannot do us any good; they just cannot repay us for anything we do for them. A couple of examples are a senior citizen struggling to open a door, or a child who appears lost. These individuals cannot repay you if you help them. So, this leaves you two choices – help or ignore. If you ignore, no harm done, you continue on with your life. But if you choose to help, it could make all the difference in the world. Ever been lost or confused and a complete stranger came over and helped you out? Didn’t it make you think highly of the human race, or put a smile on your face? Remember, it only takes a small gesture to make an impact on someone’s life."

Twilight

Confession:
I haven't read ANY of the Twilight books.
I have many friends who have tried to convince me to read them and I just really didn't care for it. Then I have friends who told me that IF you read the books and watch the movie..."you will hate it". They did offer me some advice. Watch the movie first. Then read the books if you are interested. That sounded fair enough. And thats exactly what I did. When the movie came out in theatres last year, the hubs and I almost went to see it BUT there were better movies playing. We watched those instead. It wasn't till this weekend that Twilight came out on PPV. I got so excited! Finally! I get to see what all the hype is all about and for FREE. lol. I tell my hubby that we had a few new movies on PPV BUT that the first one we are going to watch was Twilight. He agreed. We watched it. We loved it! We really got into it. And now guess what....I want to read the books. lol. I don't know if I am one of the few that loved the movie since I didn't read the books. I am kinda happy I didn't read any of them because we really enjoyed the movie. Now, I am looking forward to seeing why people loved the books versus the movie. I know that books tend to be more elaborate. I wonder all those scenes that cocurred but weren't in the movie. Can't wait!

This wkend we had our little get together on Friday. On Saturday we stayed in since it rained ALL day. We played some cards with our family. Watched some movies and just hung out. Yesterday we went over my moms for my Tio Pepito's Birthday. He turned 79. We played dominos. Ate some yummy food and then headed home.
Overall - Great wkend!!!!
Happy Monday to all of you!!

Happy Spring & Happy Friday!

Spring has arrived & so has Friday
Our plans for this wkend include:
-Having friends & family over night
-Saturday during the day...relax in our pool
-Sa. night go over our friends house...its her bday!
-Beach on Sunday, along with some relaxing.
We tend to do our laundry and cleaning done on Friday
so that we could enjoy the rest of the weekend.
It works for us.
Plus we don't have to worry about it till next week.
What really helps is that we are both organize
and every night before we go to bed
things are in their place and clean.
When it comes time for our wkly clean, its easy.
Since we are having guests over tonight...
I got a head start on our wkly cleaning last night.
All I have left to do is the laundry & groceries.
Not bad. I was exhausted last night...
but its all worth it.
Hope ALL of you have a wonderful wkend!
Enjoy your Spring Days...

Date Night

Yesterday when I got out of work I had planned to go straight to the hospital to see my bestfriends baby...BUT Audrina wasn't anymore near being born yet. Her hubby Vic told me that he would keep me up to date with things and he did. I then called my hubby and told him that we weren't going to be able to go the hospital since visiting hours are till 9pm and she wasn't born yet. He then tells me that he is going to take me out. I had a headache so I really just wanted to stay home. It was then when he told me that we were going to have a date night. On a Tuesday night. I know very random...but thats why I am in love with him!!!! We went to dinner. Then we went to the movies and watched, "Taken". Oh. MY. Goodness.....What a movie!!!! If there were a grade higher than an A, thats the grade the movie would get. It was amazing!!! If you haven't seen it, watch it this wkend. Let me know how you liked it. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

To ALL of you!!!!

I have my green on today. Do you? If not, someone is going to pinch you. beware! You know... I don't know why people pinch you if you don't have green on. I always wear it on St. Pattys Day since I could remember...never wanted to get pinched PLUS I'm big on holidays and celebrations. I love them! :)

Today is a VERY EXTRA special day because one of my bestfriends-Monique will be having her beautiful baby girl (Audrina Grace). Monique and Victor have been waiting for this day for some time now and I could not be any happier for them. I know that they are going to be exceptional parents to that little princess. I can not wait to meet her. I am here at work waiting for the call from Victor, letting me know that they are in the hospital. I am going to try to get outta here to take before and after pictures w/ my bestfriend. I was there for Indy when she had my Goddaughter and I hope to be there for Monique too. I can't wait to hold her in my arms and tell her how lucky we are to have her in our lives. She is our little lucky charm, lucky to be born on a lucky day. ;)
*In the picture above..Monique was about 16 weeks pregnant. We didn't know if the baby was a girl yet.

I love you Audrina Grace! Can't wait to finally meet the little princess who kicked mommy alot but was shy everytime Titi Joey wanted to feel. hee hee.

*In the above picture, We were celebrating Audrina's Babyshower. Monique was about 32 weeks pregnant.

I will update either later today or tomorrow with pictures of the princess and happy parents.

Prayers Requested

I read this story posted on Nesting in NC. It really touched my heart and I wanted to post it on my blog as well to see if it can help the cause.

"For with God nothing will be impossible." (Luke 1:37)
Below you will find the story of a newlywed girl whos husband was injuried during their honeymoon:
On November 29, 2008 Alfredo and I were married. We were blessed to have had a beautiful wedding surrounded by very special people. We began our life together as husband and wife with lots of hopes and dreams for our future like all newlyweds.
The next day we flew to Mexico for our honeymoon. After only 3 days of honeymooning we were faced with a tragedy. Alfredo was in a unexplainable accident in the beaches of Mexico causing him to break his C5 cervical and also compressed his C4 and C6. He is now a quadriplegic and is currently recovering at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
We are praying every day that goes by for him to regain more feeling in his body and that he WILL fully recover. Alfredo is very positive and has a lot of faith that God’s grace will bless him with a miracle. As you can imagine, the medical bills for Alfredo’s very intensive rehab are and will be very large. Very soon his insurance will be maxed out and we will need to pay for his treatments on our own.
We have created a foundation in his name in hopes to help Alfredo financially. If you or anyone that you know can help this very worthy cause it would be immensely appreciated.
Please share this with anyone you think will be able to help. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.

This story really touched my heart and made me so sad. But I have faith in God that everything will be okay. I ask that you please keep this newlywed in your prayers.
Thank you so much!
Here is the article on El Nuevo Herald (its in spanish).
Please share the word with your friends/families/co-workers/blog buddies...any help will be much appreciated.

Seven...

"I will follow you into the dark"

The hubs and I were watching a few movies on PPV last night so I completely forgot to watch my favorite Thursday night show - Grey's Anatomy. And of course, there was a new show. GREAT! I have already caught up, thanks to my dear youtube/grey's anatomy fans that posted the videos early this morning. All I can say....OMG! There is A LOT going on.

1-Derek: is really depressed over the fact that he lost another patient. He is refusing to go back to work. They are suing him. He has lost more patients than kept them alive. He is drinking alot. He takes all his things out of Merediths house and moves back to his trailer.

2-Meredith: is trying her best to be there for Derek. He is not being very nice to her. She tells him that all his patients are near death, he is their only hope. But thats doesn't help. He leaves the hospital. The Chief talks to Meredith. He tells her that Derek has her engagement ring and that he doesn't want to be alone. She leaves the hospital to find him moved out of her place and back to the trailer. Derek is drunk. She tells him about the ring. He keeps telling her to go home. He takes the ring out and throws it. He goes back in his tailer and she leaves after he screams at her,"GO HOME!!" :(

3-Richard/ the chief: one word...CRANKY! lol. He is acting like a little kid. He is picking fights with everyone. He is treating Baily very bad. His wife has to come and put him in his place.

4-Baily: is trying to do the best she can but the chief is making it hard for her. She calls the chiefs wife (Adel) and tattles on the chief. lol.

5-Alex: is becoming more independent and caring. He is becoming a GREAT dr. He is showing his love to Izzie. :)

6-Izzie: poor thing. She has cancer. She doesn't tell anyone. She has this special project going called, "patient x" with all the interns. Patient x is her. The interns finally come to terms with the diagnoses for patient x. They tell Izzie, patient x is going to die. Izzie only tells Cristina about her illness.

7-Cristina:nothing interesting.

8-Owen: nothing either. lol. only that he passed out in a cot in the hallway. Cristina came to wake him up and he swung at her. She fell and hurt her arm. He was having a nightmare. She doesn't think anything negative towards him or his dreams.

9-the others....well nothing.

After the horrible things going on with Derek, I am kinda sad on how he is treating Meredith. I hope he snaps out of it OR I hope she does something to make him feel more sure of himself.

And that my friends- is a wrap of yesterdays show. We will have to see what happens...next week. Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!
**Thank you Anonymous for letting me know about my error. I have watched Grey's since the first day it started, I don't know why I called her miranda. LOL! too funny!

Friday the 13th

Yessss! It's Friday again! That really makes me smile. And its the 2nd Friday the 13th this year. I'm not that superstious. There are some things I do not do like put my purse on the floor because I am just taking precaution. lol. Today doesn't make me scared but it sure does make me happy! This wkend we really do not have anything planned. We really enjoy these unplanned wkends because they always tend to become the best ones. Wishing you guys a happy wkend!

I leave you a qoute: "You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true. You may have to work it, however." -Richard Bach

SPARKPEOPLE translation: "Has anyone ever told you that you can do anything you want to do? Many people use this to encourage kids to set goals and stick to them, but as we get older we tend to forget this rule for ourselves. It is extremely important to realize that you can do anything you set out to do. Sometimes it takes hard work and extreme dedication, but anything is possible! So, what are you waiting for? Start building a foundation to reach success today!"

So true!!!! Make those wishes come true!!!!

New look

Made some changes to my blog. I can't say it was easy but it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I googled "how to make a 3 column blog" and BAM! I did it after a few tries! Yippee! I feel like things are looking just a bit more organized. I also changed the background, in the spirit of St. Patricks Day and March. Now I gotta see what else I can do, to personalize it more. Bye...

Its what you finish...

"You get credit for what you finish, not what you start."
-Unknown

SPARKPEOPLE translation: "Some say the hardest part is getting started. If this is true though, why do we hear stories of people who give up on their diet, stop writing a novel or quit a difficult task at work. Maybe it’s not the start but the finish that’s so difficult. This is important to know when you are chasing after a dream or goal. Many of us expect smooth sailing once we start something. However, we find out quickly there are always bumps in the road. The important thing is to embrace these bumps, not run away from them. Remind yourself that if it were easy, everyone would do it. Then, when you reach the finish line, you will have much more appreciation for what you just accomplished. The goal should always be to finish, not start. So keep at your goals, and be prepared for the bumps along the way. "

This is soooo true! I actually think this is my motivational quote for today. Now I gotta concentrate on getting to that finish line!!!! Oh and today is Thursday! Yippee! One more day till Friday and the wkend!

Quote of the day

"The Ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challange and controversy." -Martin Luther King Jr.

Sparkpeople translation: "When problems come up, how do you react? Do you look for blame, or do shoulder what you can and try to repair it? Do you throw up your hands and look for an easier way, or do you learn, adapt and keep pushing? There’s a lot of talk nowadays about ‘personal responsibility’. That’s great. But it’s usually brought up only in finding fault. To show ‘responsibility’ is to own up to your role in the problem’s cause. We don’t often hear about the other side of responsibility – that is, an obligation to be part of the solution. Even when a hardship is not your fault at all, you can – and should – do what you can to fix it. Your skills and abilities create an obligation that only your character can fulfill."

And by the way-I am taking it that I am not the only one who has a love/hate relationship with the time difference. My goodness, on Sunday I hardly felt its effects BUT this week has been awful for us to wake up. I hate waking up and it's SUPER dark outside. I feel like I have to jump back into bed. I love that spring is coming and that summer is getting closer. Meaning beach/pool days and summer vacations! So I guess I am just going to have to adapt because this is my favorite time of year.

Love

Todays quote is: "Love. Fall in love and stay in love. Write only what you love, and love what you write. The keyword is LOVE. You have to get up in the morning and write something you love, something to live for" -Ray Bradbury

Sparkpeople Translation: "Are you in love? Do you wake up in the morning and know that your day is going to be filled with love? This quote reminds us that it is important to truly love what you do. Whether it is a relationship in your personal life or your professional life, love what you do. Of course, there will always be tasks that you don’t necessarily love to complete…but you should love the bigger picture. It is much easier to reach success if you love what you are trying to reach. Think about that. Perhaps you need to revise your goals or refuel your passion…whatever the case, do it today and LOVE it!"

This is so true about everything. Your personal relationships (marriages & friendships), work, tasks, hobbies, etc. When you have everything you work hard to get (in other words everything you love), you will love to be around those people or you will love doing what you are doing. It's that easy and inturn it will make your life much easier as well. So live that life you will LOVE!!!!
