Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is the appointed time
for focusing on the good in our lives.
In each of our days,we can find small blessings,
but too often we overlook them,
choosing instead to spend our time paying attention to problems.
We give our energy to those who cause us trouble
instead of those who bring peace.
Starting now,
let’s be on the lookout for the bits of pleasure in each hour,
and appreciate the people who bring love and light to everyonewho is blessed to know them. You are one of those people. On Thanksgiving,We are thankful for you.

We wish you a VERY Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Be safe and have fun!
XoXo,
The JL Family

Birthday Plans

My birthday celebration starts tomorrow. My husband will be taking me out to dinner and he says he has a few surprises lined up for me so I am super excited about that. :)

On Saturday morning-we ALL (family & hubby) will be headed to Key West. We haven't been there in a while so we figured to go spend some quality time with the family on my birthday and my Step dad's bday (we share 11.16). We already reserved our rooms and we plan to do it all. We will start by having breakfast at our favorite Cracker Barrel and then probably renting some scooters. Hopefully it won't be cold and we can actually get a little bit of a tan.

Hubby & I both took Monday off from work so we will spend it at home with Johnny, relaxing.

Next weekend we will celebrate my birthday with the rest of the family and our friends.

I can't wait!!!!!!! :)

Eventful Wkend

Wow...talk about being tired!

My little brother who just turned 8 (this wkend), is my pride and joy. I spoil him rotten, I admit it! I wanted to make him an extra special birthday this year, since this is the first year away from him (not living in the same house). So...I brought in all my little troops. Jose Luis and I have a total of 8 nephews and nieces...out of those 8, we picked up 4 and took them to the movies with us along with my brother and sisters. We had our hands full! We saw Madegascar 2, it was really funny and cute! The kids all loved it! After that we took them all to Dave and Busters for some arcade fun. We got them each their own power cards and let them use it how they wanted. They loved the freedom and the few hours of arcade fun time. I have to admit, it was HARD keeping an eye on all of them. Thank God my sisters were there with me bc they helped us watched them.

Afterwards-I took all the kids (4 of them) to our home. We ordered some Pizza, let them play with the playstation, watch another movie and hang out. They were having so much fun! I even baked them some cookies and after their showers when they were ready for bed, I gave it to them with some milk. My brother is use to our special treatment because he has sleeped over before BUT my nephews were in heaven. They all had a great sleepover party...

to make it even more fun...the next morning I made them their favorite...pancakes! After breakfast, we all got ready and left for round 2...the park. Since My mom wasn't with us to celebrate my brothers birthday, she wanted to do something with him, so all of our family went to Tropical Park and we had some fun! We got home around 6pm, again made the boys take their showers, bath my neice (because she is only 3 yrs. old), made them some dinner, checked their homework, and waited for their dad to pick them up.

boy oh boy...was I tired. I told my hubby that I think we should only have one baby because they are A LOT of work. lol. of course, we have always said we want two but seriously no more than 2. He and I love kids, we always take them everywhere with us or have them over but this time they really drained us. lol. I had to even call in yesterday because my body was so sore, I felt like I was getting a flu or something.

Changeling Movie Review

Synopsis: Inspired by actual events that occurred in 1920s-era Los Angeles, Clint Eastwood's "Changeling" tells the story of a woman driven to confront a corrupted LAPD after her abducted son is retrieved and she begins to suspect that the boy returned to her is not the same boy she gave birth to. The year was 1928, and the setting a working-class suburb of Los Angeles. As Christine (Angelina Jolie) said goodbye to her son, Walter, and departed for work, she never anticipated that this was the day her life would be forever changed. Upon returning home, Christine was distressed to discover that Walter was nowhere to be found. Over the course of the following months, the desperate mother would launch a search that would ultimately prove fruitless. Yet just when it seemed that all hope was lost, a nine-year-old boy claiming to be Christine's son seemed to appear out of thin air. Overcome with emotions and uncertain how to face the authorities or the press, Christine invites the child to stay in her home despite knowing without a doubt that he is not her son. As much as Christine would like to accept the fact that her son has been returned to her, she cannot accept the injustice being pushed upon her and continues to challenge the Prohibition-era Los Angeles police force at every turn. As a result, Christine is slandered by the powers that be, and painted as an unfit mother. In this town, a woman who challenges the system is putting her life on the line, and as the situation grows desperate, the only person willing to aid her in her search is benevolent local activist Reverend Briegleb (John Malkovich).

This movie is a MUST see! It was AWESOME! My husband and I both grade it an A+. Angelina did great job with this role. You will not be disappointed! :)

History in the making

Yesterday Barack Obama (First African American) won the Presidency Elections by large. It just goes to show that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE with dedication!!!! He lead a good campaign and now its finally over, no more hate and negative advertisements! yay! Congrats to him and Biden!

I have to admit McCain spoke very good and classy! I enjoyed hearing what he had to say and not once did I think he was acting fake. Also, when they finally declared Obama our 44th President, it was nice to hear him speak. His speech was great!!!!

All we can do now is sit back, pray for the best and hope that all his promises will come true! Like our future President said - "the road ahead is long" but togther we will get through it because we are the United States! God Bless our land, the changes that are going to occur and May God bless ALL of our new government heads!

Election Day 11.04.08

Ahhh...election day! I never thought this day would come. All the advertisements were really starting to annoy me. Thank God I didn't go and wait in4 hours lines to early vote and waited till today because the lines went by SUPER dooper fast. From the moment we stepped out of our car till we got back into our car, only 50 minutes went by. And....now its ALL over! Thank God!
I hope and pray that WHOEVER is our next president, can be the president he was meant to be. That everything improves with our economy and that we can continue to try to make this a better U.S.

Sing like its 1984

This past Saturday, I went with my oldest friend (friends since I was 3 yrs old), Jessica to see New Kids On The Block. When she bought the tickets I knew right away that we would have so much fun because when we were little, we use to have EVERYTHING of them (dolls, tapes, bed sheets, trading cards, binders, folders, pencils, etc.). It was one loooong month or actually 15 yrs waiting to see them live but it worth the wait.

As soon as they came on stage, I got goose bumps. I felt like the little girl I use to be listening to their songs. We jumped, screamed, sang, laughed, hugged and remembered the good 'ol days. It was A LOT of fun! They still sung the same...Donnie & Jordan are still H-O-T and Joey is still a cutie.

To top off the night-my cousin Cindy was sitting one row right above us. That was so funny! We didn't have a clue as to that she was going with her friends...so sure enough we all took pictures together and had even more fun talking about when we were madly in love w the NKOTB!

I'll post pictures as soon as I upload them...
