Happy Friday!

Good morning friends...

Today the hubs and I are taking our older nephews and niece out jet skiing. They come every summer to spend time with their dad (and us) and we get to spoil them for 2 1/2 months. The jet ski fits 3 of us and we have a raft that we tie up to the jet ski, that fits 3 more. It's A LOT of fun! Of course, we are EXTRA careful. They have no idea. We are going over their house in a couple hours to surprise them. I would say around 10 AM we should be in the water. I can not wait!

By the way-my mid-terms were extremely HARD! I do hope and pray that I came out good in it though.

OK...so our plans for this weekend are:

1. Jey ski today till about mid afternoon.


2. Come home and clean.


3. Take our birthday nieces and nephew (3 of them) out to buy their present. Every year the hubs and I take them to a store and let them pick out what they really want. They love the liberty and we love to make them happy. They look forward to our shopping day every time.


4. On Saturday drop off our cars to get their oil change in the early AM.


5. Then party it up for the 3 special birthdays which is going to be held at our home.


6. On Sunday, I was planning on resting but I have a baby shower that I kinda have to go to. Hopefully that ends early so that Mr. JL and I could go to the movies. We have like 4 movies that we have been wanting to see and we haven't yet. Plus we want to rest. Sleep. Sleep and more sleep.

That pretty much wraps up our plans. Sounds like yet another crazy busy weekend for the JL family.

Father's Day Recap

We celebrated Father's Day on Saturday with my in-laws because some of our families had to work. We had a pool party at our home and a yummy BBQ. Unfortunately, I was not able to get into the pool because I was studying for my mid-terms. I did not even take pictures of our gathering of how busy I was. But we did have a nice time. I wish I could have taken a picture of my father in law in the shirt we got him. He looked so cute in it. His favorite football team is The Miami Dolphins so we bought him this t-shirt that said Miami's Best Dad with the logo of the Dolphins. He loved it! I will take a picture of him wearing the next time.

On Sunday, we took my step dad, mom and brother to breakfast at this place near our home. On Sundays they serve a buffet for a good price and it is DELICIOUS! They loved it! We had a great time! Since were out of there by 10:30 we decided to go watch a movie together. We saw Imagine That. We give it an A. If you have not seen it, go watch it. It is adorable! We cried and we laughed A LOT! My 8 year old brother loved too. For those of you that have little ones, take them, they will definitely enjoy Eddie Murphy and his little girl. It was just too cute! For a preview go HERE.

Another June birthday...

Happy birthday to my bestfriend Monique! We met in middle school. Became bestfriends in high school. We went on several dates together with the boyfriends. We grew up together. We had a ton of sleep overs. We opened up our own detective services. lol. We opened a real business together but it only lasted like a month (we did make good money though) Ha! We cried, we laughed, we argued but I wouldn't have it any other way. We went through a lot of friends but we always stuck together. We shared Spring Break 2003 together. MTV at the beach. Gym partner. Pollo Tropical salad and water for like 3 months to get in shape. lol. I walked her wedding to her high school sweetheart and my friend Victor. We traveled together. She was my Matron of Honor. We prayed together. And now we celebrate yet another birthday together. This birthday is special because she has her beautiful prayed for baby girl, Audrina Grace. So although my bestfriend hates to celebrate birthdays...we will find a way of celebrating it. Since it's father's day, we will be fair to Victor and let him enjoy his first father's day BUT hopefully soon like next week we will have fun fun in dedication of her and her fabuloso year. I love u my friend! Happy Birthday!!!

Aquatica

Aquatica is a new water park in Orlando, FL. Since Cocoa Beach is very near (1 hr away) we all decided to go. Here are some pictures of our adventure...

Cocoa Beach Part 1

Hello Friends!!!

I am so sorry that I have been so lost. I have had absolutely NO time to write. I barely get to even go online which is not normal for me at all. I only get to go online to pay bills. Yuk! I am super backed up on all my favorite blogs. Sorry! And I think I owe you some post of my own. I will post some of the pictures from our recent trip to Cocoa Beach in parts because there are so many of them.

By the way...I have my first midterms coming up this Monday. Nervous. Stressed. Worried. I always put so much pressure on myself and I always end up doing good. Hopefully, this time I keep up my good record.

We cut a cake for both my grandma and grandpa. His bday was June 1st and hers was June 9th. The picture on the side is of their grand kids minus two more that were not there. Check out my grandmas smile on the picture above. She was so happy because we surprised them with the cake.

And the picture of the "I hear you" on the sand was done by amazing hubby, Mr. JL. He woke up early in the morning for a morning swim and wrote in huge letters on the sand. I woke up probably 30 minutes later than him and when I went out on the balcony that was how I found him. He still finds ways to melt my heart! I am truly blessed for having him as my husband!

OH and the newlywed tanks are from our honeymoon. I had them made last year and we occasionally still wear them. :)

Blissful Months!!! This past month has been difficult for the both of us.

We both got laid off.

Yet we are each others rock.

He keeps me grounded and gives me countless support.

I know that TOGETHER we will get ANYTHING accomplished!

Tonight we will celebrate with a special dinner.

Gran Torino

We saw this movie this past weekend. We thought it was a GREAT movie!!!

Movie summary:

Walt Kowalski is a widower who holds onto his prejudices despite the changes in his Michigan neighborhood and the world around him. Kowalski is a grumpy, tough-minded, unhappy an old man, who can't get along with either his kids or his neighbors, a Korean War veteran whose prize possession is a 1972 Gran Torino he keeps in mint condition. When his neighbor Thao, a young Hmong teenager under pressure from his gang member cousin, tries to steal his Gran Torino, Kowalski sets out to reform the youth. Drawn against his will into the life of Thao's family, Kowalski is soon taking steps to protect them from the gangs that infest their neighborhood.

We're Back

We got back on Saturday afternoon. We had a wonderful time! Today I am home getting everything in order around our home. Lots and lots of laundry! Boo! I have school tonight so I will post the pictures up later on this week.

Random things from our vacation:

1. The Beach was FREEZING and had a lot of rocks. Not my favorite at all! What can I say..I am spoiled with beautiful beaches in Miami.
2. Saw a couple of beautiful sunrises in Cocoa Beach.
3. We played so many games in the pool.
4. I caught up on my tan. Love it! :)
5. I hate American coffee. I know some of you LOVE it and can't live without it but I attempted it a few times and it didn't taste that great to me.
6. We sang happy birthday a few times and had some yummy cakes.
7. We went to Aquatica in Orlando. Had so much fun!
8. We didn't get to see the shuttle launch because they cancelled it. :(
9. MR. JL and I missed Johnny sooo much!!!!
10. Cocoa Beach has the BEST Targets! Ha!
11. Had a great time shopping with my mommy!
12. Our condo was super cute!
13. I bought the SHRED! I will probably start today or tomorrow.

She's my special lady! Mine...ALL mine! lol. yeah right at times, I get frustrated because I have to share her with 4 others (my 2 sisters, my brother, and Ricky). I was her first born and I pretty much had her ALL to myself for 9 whole years. I can probably be a pain her behind because I want her ALL to myself. But I hope she knows that she means the WORLD to me. She has been an exceptional mother to us 4. I honestly do not know where I would been without her guidance and words of wisdom. She is one of a kind. I adore her more than words!

Happy Birthday Abuela!

Happy Birthday to my abuela mom (I use to call her that when I was little). My grandmother means the WORLD to me!!!! She is my go to person when I need to get some straight to the point advice. She is ALWAYS there for me! She is always pushing me to be the best that I can be. I owe her A LOT! And today is her special day. We took her and my grandpa along with us for the weekend to Cocoa Beach. Pictures will soon be posted.

Friend Making Monday

Hello friends!

It's Monday and you know what that means...

This week's task is to tell us

10 things you love about summer!!!

1. That it's summer. It's my favorite season!!!

2. The weather. I absolutely love the sunshine in the summer! 3. Vacations with our family. Anywhere!!! With my side of the family...we usually always go to Sanibel Island. This year we are at Cocoa Beach. My mom likes to rent for a week at the beach in a condo that fits all of us. It's awesome! And with my in laws, we usually go to Orlando. Since there are so many kids and they LOVE Disney that's where we go. Always makes for good times! Who doesn't love Mickey Mouse?

4. Cruises. If you don't know this by now...we love going on cruises!!! We are going on one in September and we can not wait! I think it one of the best vacations to take EVER! If you have never been on one, you must try it! You will not regret it! I promise!!!!

5. The Beach. We are VERY fortunate to have amazing beaches in South Florida. We take advantage of the beach as much as possible. Even when its cold, the hubs and I enjoy going to the beach for a nice walk or picnic. It relaxes us. I actually took this picture on a beautiful beach day. The water is crystal clear. 6. Pool Parties at our home. We have these every single weekend. No lie. If not on Saturday then on Sunday. We always have the same people over. Our family. And sometimes we make the parties even bigger and invite ALL of our friends. There is always yummy food, delicious drinks, domino's, and fun under the sun.7. No traffic in the mornings or afternoons due to school. Enough said. Ha!

8. Days are longer. It will be 8 PM and the sun still hasn't gone down. Love that!

9. ALL the yummy fruits. Mangos. Strawberries. Pineapples. Watermelons. Yuuuummmy!
